Description

On Sunday, Sept. 11, there will be community gathering at 5 p.m. at the Charlottesville Pavilion.

The event will include musical performances by a variety of local groups, including the Virginia Consort and Orchestra, the UVa Black Voices Gospel Choir and the UVa Glee Club.

Admiral James Barnett (Ret.), chief of the Federal Communications Commission Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau, will be the guest speaker at the event.

Barnett is responsible for overseeing FCC activities regarding public safety, homeland security and emergency management and disaster preparedness.
